Jandré Germishuizen

Jandré Germishuizen has had a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. Having spent most of his life in southern Namibia, he was introduced to the mesmerising beauty of Sossusvlei, one of the most captivating places on Earth. After completing his education in South Africa, the path became clear for Jandré – a career that would allow him to immerse himself in nature.

Returning to South Africa, Jandré pursued studies in nature conservation and guiding, with his trusty compact DSLR camera always by his side. Once his studies were complete, Jandré embarked on a guiding journey. Initially, he accompanied small private groups to Sossusvlei and eventually led groups across Namibia. It was during this time that Jandré discovered his genuine passion for photography. Guided by exceptional mentors, he worked diligently to realise his dream.

Today, Jandré is a full-time photographer guide, accompanying some of the world’s most exceptional photographers on captivating journeys through Namibia. This includes notable figures such as Art Wolfe, a renowned National Geographic photographer, Hougaard Malan, an esteemed landscape and wildlife photographer awarded Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2016, and Izak Pretorius, the acclaimed Wildlife Photographer of the Year recognised by the National History Museum.

Photography has become an integral part of Jandré’s identity. He is driven by the constant desire to capture the new and extraordinary. Each day, Jandré finds purpose in enticing viewers into uncharted worlds, offering him glimpses of unique experiences and endless possibilities. In a highly visual world, Jandré embraces the opportunity to inspire, amuse, and captivate through his profound connection with nature and the artistry of imagery. His mission is accomplished when he can leave a lasting impression, drawing viewers into the captivating presence of nature and images that have shaped his life.
